(1) The Gospel is the power of God to salvation. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. ¹⁷For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith." (Romans 1:16-17; ESV)
(2) All have sinned & are unworthy of God. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23; ESV)
(3) Death is the consequence of sin. "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23; ESV)
(4) Death has come to all due to Adam's first sin. "Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned" (Romans 5:12; ESV) "For as in Adam all die..." (1 Corinthians 15:22; ESV)
(5) Unbelieving mankind is spiritually dead, corrupted by sin, unable to please God, and hostile toward Him. "And you were dead in the trespasses and sins ²in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience." (Ephesians 2:1; ESV) "as it is written, 'There is none righteous, not even one; ¹¹There is none who understands, There is none who seeks for God; ¹²All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good, There is not even one.'" (Romans 3:10-12; NAS) "because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so; ⁸and those who are in the flesh cannot please God." (Romans 8:7; NAS) "But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised." (1 Corinthians 2:14; NAS) "The wicked are estranged from the womb; These who speak lies go astray from birth." (6) God sent His Son into the world to save sinners. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16; NAS) "The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost." (1 Timothy 1:15; ESV) "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:21; NAS) "All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him." (Isaiah 53:6; NAS)
(7) Christ saves believers from God's righteous wrath. "but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ⁹Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. (Romans 5:8; ESV)
(8) Those who believe the Gospel shall be saved. "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." (John 3:36; NAS) "She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21; ESV) "Jesus said to her, 'I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live...'" (John 11:25; ESV) "And this is eternal life, that they know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. (John 17:3; ESV)
*(9) Christ is the only* way to God the Father.** "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" (John 14:6; ESV) "This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. ¹²And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Act 4:11-12; ESV) "For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, (1 Timothy 2:5; ESV)
(10) God commands all people to repent & believe in Christ. "The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, ³¹because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead." (Acts 17:30-31; ESV)
(11) Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, ⁹not a result of works, so that no one may boast. ¹⁰For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8; ESV)
(12) Good works are the evidence of genuine, saving faith. "So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." (James 2:17; ESV) "So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. ¹⁸But someone will say, 'You have faith and I have works.' Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works." (James 2:17-18; ESV) "And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules." (Ezekiel 36:27; ESV) "So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; ¹³for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure." (Philippians 2:12-13; NAS)
