ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Providence Theological Seminary (PTS) cordially welcomes students who are dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ and earnestly want to pursue either part-time or full-time study of the Word of God based upon principles of interpretation that are based upon how Jesus and the New Testament writers understood the New Covenant fulfillment of the Old Covenant Scriptures. All courses are currently designed for online instruction only. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION Masters of Divinity: Admission to the graduate-level Master of Divinity Degree (96 credit hours) requires a bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) from an accredited college with a grade point of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. The accredited bachelor degree requirement is widely accepted policy for seminaries and is a necessary requisite for pursing the Master of Divinity degree. Bachelor-Level Programs: Admission to bachelor-level degree programs (B. Div. and B.Th., 64 credit hours) requires a high school degree. The B.Div. program is designed for those spiritually gifted men desiring to prepare for the pastoral (preaching) ministry). The B.Th. program is designed for those students pursuing a teaching ministry. Both the B.Div. and B.Th. programs are specially designed, not only for younger students, but also for those second-career persons who are mature in age and Christian experience desiring to prepare for a more fulltime ministry. Certain courses (to be designated and dependent upon the level of course requirements) are designed to permit either bachelor- and master-level credit. Diploma in Theological Studies: A diploma in theological studies (DTS) is also offered for those students desiring to receive one full year (32 credit hours) of seminary study. For admission to any of the programs offered, please submit to the Seminary the three completed forms (Application for Admission, Church, and Academic Reference Forms). (Go to Admission Forms) All fulltime students must have academic or test documentation verifying proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English. Applying students may or may not be required to meet personally with the Faculty President before being accepted as a student in PTS. ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS FOR PART-TIME FOR CREDIT & AUDIT STUDENTS Those persons desiring to take individual courses for credit or for audit must submit to the Seminary only Parts I, II and III of the Application for Admission Form, a written statement explaining their Christian conversion and experience, and a brief statement of their understanding of a "prudent and respectable" dress policy for a seminary student. APPLICATION FEE There is a one-time, non-refundable $25 application fee for admission fee for each student.

1) Print out and complete the appropriate applications for the PTS program you have selected. 2) Mail the completed forms to Providence Theological Seminary (see Mailing Address). 3) Mail the one-time, non-refundable $25 application fee to Providence Theological Seminary (see Mailing Address).

STUDENT DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

Students are not required to hold to all of the doctrinal standards of Providence Theological Seminary (PTS) in order to enroll. However, students should be cognizant of the doctrinal position held and taught by the PTS faculty. Entering students need only to agree with the following ten doctrinal essentials: (1) the authority and inerrancy of Scripture; (2) the Trinity; (3) the full deity and humanity of Christ; (4) the spiritual depravity of fallen mankind; (5) the substitutionary atonement and bodily resurrection of Christ; (6) salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone; (7) the indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit; (8) The church as the body of Christ; (9) the future, bodily and visible return of Christ; and (10) eternal condemnation for the unbeliever and eternal blessing for the believer.

STUDENT LIFE

The following is the Seminary policy on Appearance and the Christian Walk. On Appearance: Students (as well as faculty and staff) are expected to dress in a manner that communicates a reverent fear of God and his word, as well as thoughtfulness and respect for their fellow students and staff. "Tidiness, cleanliness, modesty, and gender specific hair and dress styles are considered to be an important part of Christian testimony." Any question a prospective student may have regarding this policy is to be addressed with the Dean of Students during the application process. Within these broad guidelines it is our desire "not to exceed what is written" (I Cor. 4:6). However, while it is anticipated that all students will dress in a manner that is "prudent and respectable" the Dean of Students shall, with the support of one or more faculty members and the Seminary Board, as necessary, address appearance and dress practice that is believed to be inappropriate, disruptive, or disrespectful. On Christian Walk: It is understood that when a student registers with the Seminary, he/she agrees willingly to obey its regulations, and to be loyal to its purpose. Each student is to maintain a consistent Christian life during the entire course of study, and show due qualification for graduation. It is expected that each student will regularly attend and serve in a local church while attending seminary. Conduct unbecoming a Christian which adversely affects the biblical standards or Christian witness of the Seminary may result in discipline, including suspension or dismissal from the Seminary.

Students must purchase their own copies of any books required for seminary courses.

GRADING SYSTEM

Providence Theological Seminary has a grading system based upon a 4.0 scale as follows: (Final grade of .5 or higher fraction rounded to the next higher whole number)   97-100 A   = 4.00     94-96 A-  = 3.67     91-93 B+ = 3.33     88-90 B   = 3.00     85-87 B-  = 2.67     82-84 C+ = 2.33     79-81 C   = 2.00         <79 F  = 0.00 The aim of every member of the Providence Theological Seminary staff and administration is to help you, the student, grow in your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and in your knowledge of the Holy Scriptures. TUITION FEES

Master of Divinity Courses:  $200 per credit hour Bachelor of Theology/Divinity Courses:  $150 per credit hour Diploma in Theological Studies:   $125 per credit hour Audit Fee:  $100 per course when only one individual is taking the course. In group sessions of 3 or more students auditing from one computer/projector, the fee is $75 per individual. Cost of textbooks and other materials are not included.
